Hello team, when reading the WorldServer documentation it could be assumed that segments can be locked from Online Editor, since there is a shortcut provided to do that (Ctrl+L):

However, the shortcut does not work. There is also no option anywhere in the menu to lock segments in Online Editor. We have tested in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. The step type is set correctly to Dynamic, which should allow the assigned user to lock or unlock segments. Note: it works correctly in Browser Workbench.

Resolution

The information in the documentation is currently incorrect and will be amended.

The locking actions toggle is disabled by default for all WorldServer users. This implies that in the Online Editor the user cannot do any locking action (Segment level locking/unlocking or Selection locking/unlocking).
The Development Team is investigating the possibility to bring this feature in a future WorldServer releases.

If you want to lock segments manually, the current workaround is to use Browser Workbench.

Important: in order for locked segments to be displayed in Browser Workbench, locking should be first set to in the Advanced setting of the human step(s) following the Lock segments step in your Workflow. In order to do so, open your Workflow editor and go to the Advanced settings of the human step, for instance, Translate or Review

Locking can be set to dynamic or static in the Advanced setting of the human step.  Dynamic locking means that this user can change the status of a locked segment and unlock it or lock it again as required.
The dynamic locking is usually applied to the Review step to allow Reviewers to make changes in the translation when required.

The static locking means that the user assigned to this step cannot change the status of locked segments. He/she can only view the locked segments or add a comment. The static locking is usually applied to the Translate step and prevents translators to change segments that have already been reviewed.
